Imagine you are doing homework. If I ask you “How long have you been doing homework?” You can answer, “I have been doing it for an hour.”

This means that you started doing homework an hour ago and you are still doing it now.

MUSICAL ECHOES IN THE RAINFOREST

Forest Ranger Fiona has been exploring the rainforests “for” 15 years. She has been filming different species of plants and animals that she has found in the forest during this time. Fiona’s exploration of the forest has been a continuous activity that has lasted “for” a period of 15 years.


Jakoo is a handsome boy, who was born with a love for music. He has been playing various musical instruments “since” he was a baby. Jakoo’s passion for music has been a continuous activity that has started “Since” his birth.

One day, they were exploring the rainforest and they met each other. Jakoo was playing the flute.

Fiona was impressed by his talent. As they talked, they found out that they were both from the Present Perfect Continuous country, a place where people are always interested in some sort of continuous activity.

 

Write a short paragraph using the Present Perfect Continuous tense to describe a recent activity that you have been following.

 

Make the Present Perfect Continuous.

Materials:
• White crayon
• White paper
• Lemon juice
• Cotton swab
• Bowl

Instructions:
Write present perfect continuous sentences on a piece of white paper using the white crayon. For example,
“I have been watching TV for two hours.”

Pour some lemon juice into a bowl. It contains an acid that reacts to the white crayon to reveal the hidden sentence.
Dip a cotton swab into the lemon juice and use it to paint over the sentence you wrote with a white crayon. As you paint the lemon juice it will reveal the hidden message.
